Here is the original post which explains it: After several days of scouring online help forums it seems that I stumbled upon the solution to this problem. Hi ITT (and any others who might have run into this problem). Thanks in advance for any guidance/advice. Did something change with Yahoo that has made it incompatible with Eudora? Is there some fix?Īs a caveat, I am not an IT professional, so if anyone is kind enough to offer some advice, please keep it understandable to an amateur! I did download Thunderbird today to see if I could use that to download mail, and am having no problems with that. Oddly, I can still send email I've noticed a number of recent messages from people unable to send. These sorts of problems seem to crop up with a fair amount of regularity with Yahoo mail, and all of its various predecessors, but this time it seems to be lasting longer than usual, and I can find nothing online addressing it. I've been using Eudora for decades, and have all of my personal and professional emails stored on it, so in spite of the fact that it's no longer supported, I'd be loath to get rid of it. The original error message was 'Connection with server has been lost Cause: (1)' but now I'm getting the following message 'Could not connect to "" Cause: Connection timed out (10060)' I checked 'Last SSL Info' since often there seem to be problems with outdated certificates, but get the message 'You have never done any SSL negotiation with any personality since the last time you started Eudora', which is a new one for me. I am using Eudora 7.1.0.9 and as of yesterday have been unable to download mail from my Yahoo account.
